Kids Rooms
You probably remember how important your bedroom was to you when you were a child. It was your only private, personal space and you did everything there from sleeping to playing with your friends to your homework. If you remember, then you’ll understand why home decorating in your child’s bedroom is extremely important. After all, your child’s bedroom is an extension of his or her personality and it should reflect that.
In order to guarantee that your child’s room will make your child happy you should let your child help you with the plans. If your child is old enough, allow him or her to choose the colors and bedding and give you input on what he or she wants. This tip is, however, intended within reason. A bright green or hot pink room will make it awfully hard for your child to relax, so if this is what he or she wants try to compromise. Allow for bright green or hot pink trim or accessories but don’t paint the entire walls in this way.
Organization is the primary factor in kids’ rooms. Make sure closets and drawers are well organized so that your child can find things. Not only does keeping the space organized make your child happy, but it also establishes good habits for organization in the future. Install a laundry hamper. Place hooks around the room for bags and shelves for books. It is also important that hooks, shelves and closet bars be at a level where your child can reach them to avoid frustration.
A desk is also a vital part of a child’s bedroom. Desks are essential not only for homework but also for creativity. Children use desks for art projects, experiments and even for play so don’t forget this important feature.
Finally, make sure your child’s bed is comfy and inviting. Fluffy pillows and bright clean sheets will make your child excited about bedtime!
