Cheap Antiques Can Add to Your Home

Are you looking to decorate your home on a tight budget?  If so, cheap antiques can add quite a bit of charm and personality to your home.

Cheap antiques can be found at yard and garage sales as well as second hand stores at prices that are next to nothing!  From furniture to rugs and accessories, cheap antiques will create and elegant and original look for your house.

A great way to give your home a new look is to purchase used or antique furniture and repaint it.  When you are shopping in second hand stores or yard sales, look at the furniture with a different set of eyes than you use in a furniture store.  Think not about whether or not you think an item is attractive enough for your home, but rather about whether or not it is useful and how you can make it attractive.  Sometimes we find the perfect thing—lets say it’s a bookshelf that would look fantastic in your living room, the only problem is that it’s green and you have a warm color scheme in your living room.  In most cases, you would probably pass over this great find but you can always buy it and paint it a different color!  Of course you would never do this in a store with new furniture, but if you are buying used furniture or cheap antiques the low prices will make it totally worthwhile even if you have to put a little extra work in.

You can also find great accessories at second hand stores and yard sales.  A cheap antique vase with a beautiful bouquet of flowers could be just what your living room table needs!  Cheap antique plates can become wall decorations or votive candleholders, vintage clothes or sheets can be turned into table clothes or pillowcases.

As you can see, with a little bit of work cheap antiques can add tremendously to the decoration of your home.
