Bedroom
Your bedroom is your own private space. When decorating your bedroom, keep in mind that you aren’t decorating to impress guests. You are decorating to create a place for yourself that makes you feel relaxed and comfortable.
If you want to decorate your bedroom there are several things you need to think about. First, what colors make you feel the most serene and relaxed? If you are sharing a bedroom then you may have to compromise with your spouse, as different colors have different associations for different people.
The next thing to think about is storage space. How much stuff do you have to store? If you have a lot of clothes but only a little bit of storage space there are a lot of things you can do. You can purchase new shelves, wardrobes or dressers or you can make the most of the space you have. There are a lot of companies that specialize in closet organization. They will help you add extra bars or hanging shelves in order to maximize space and allow you to store as much as possible.
Next, you need to decide how to organize your bedroom. Many people find symmetry to be quite soothing—if you place your bed in the center of one wall with identical nightstands on each side and identical lamps on each nightstand you will sleep soundly.
Now that you have your room organized and your color scheme picked out you can start thinking about accessorizing. You can buy sheet sets that come with matching curtains or you can choose your own mix of accessories within your color scheme. It is also a nice and relaxing touch to add votive candles around the room. If you are looking for romance, add a canopy to your bed!
There are a whole score of accessories you can add to your bedroom. Just be sure that they fit your personality and make you feel comfortable. After all, your bedroom is the only room in the house that is your personal, private space and it should be the place you feel the most relaxed.
