Default Yard Sale Finished

The signs have been taken down, the left over items have been packed away and the yard sale is finally done and over with.

I spent a total of 4 days in a garage in high heat for practically nothing. Everyone else that had items for sale managed to make alright money. Me...not so much. Oh well that's the risks.

I did at least clean some things out. Most of what I did have for sale that didn't sell is now going to be donated to a local shop that sells this stuff to make money to keep open homeless shelters and help those who are in need.

Everyone tells me to take the stuff to the Goodwill, but that isn't going to happen. The Good will get this stuff donated to them then they want to price everything to high and I don't like that. Where I am donating this stuff they charge very little for what they sell which is why stuff move through there quickly and they still make enough to help others.

Plus I really don't wanna store this stuff and wait for another yard sale or something. I know that is what most do, but I'd rather not even bother. I have plenty more stuff to get rid of should I decide to waste a few more days holding a sale.

Default Re: Yard Sale Finished

It's too bad that you did all that work for almost no financial gain. Yard sales can be a great way to make some extra money, but sometimes what we have for sale is not what the buyers happen to be looking for at any given time.

It's good that your are willing to donate your items to a place that will help someone out who needs what you couldn't sell. I'm sure that someone will very much appreciate what you've donated.

I agree with you that some of the charities out there are asking too much for what they are selling. I know that I too, only donate to those that ask for reasonable prices for their items.
