Default What is the Market Like in Your Area?

I was wondering what is the housing market like where you live? I am sure we probably have people in here from all over the place and I wonder if things are good or bad in your area?

I live in what you could call a sleepy little area. The best jobs in this area are mill jobs and they are all but obsolete now. That has taken a terrible toll on the area. There just aren't any jobs here anymore and so people are having to move away to make a living and raise their families.

Houses here are just sitting on the market for the most part and they have no prospects. I have a friend who buys properties and puts them up for rent. He does pretty well but as far as selling homes, nothing is moving.

My sister in law is currently trying to sell her house and I would bet money that a year from now, it will still be sitting empty.

How are things where you live?

I live in a fairly busy area. Though for the most part homes just arent selling. No one seems to have the money right now to purchase a home.

This isnt a sleepy area, but there are still no jobs around here. Though who are lucky enough to be working are doing all that they can to keep those jobs, and those with out work are being forced to look into other areas to make money.

There are 4 houses just down the block from where I live, that have all been empty for several years. They are kept up clean and the yards cut nicely, but no one has purchased any of them.

I have seen these homes and they are beautiful. There are no major problems with the houses, but no one can afford them, that is the only problem.
