Uses of WD 40

I was surprised to discover some of the things that WD 40 can actually be used for. Of course I knew it was good for squeaky doors and things like that.

However there are so many more uses for it that it totally shocked me. I believed that there was only a couple of uses for it though that is completely wrong!!!!

Here are some of the other uses I have found out that WD 40 is good for....


1. Remove road tar and other grime from cars.
2. Loosens zippers that are stuck.
3. Cleans and restores chalkboards.
4. Removes dirt and grime from the BBQ Grill.
5. Protects silver from getting tarnished.
6. Lubricates and cleans guitar strings.
7. Will keep flies off of cows.
8. Will give floors that just waxed look with out them becoming slippery.
9. Removes lipstick stains.
10. removes scuff marks off the kitchen floor.
11. Lubricates doors hinges in vehicles and home.
12. Keeps glass shower doors free of nasty water spots.
13. Removes tomato stains from clothing.
14. Untangles chain necklaces.
15. Removes stains from stainless steel sinks.
16. Keeps ceramic and terra cotta plant pots from oxidizing.
17. Hides scratches in ceramic floors including marble flooring.
18. Allows scissors to keep working properly.
19. Will clean and restore leather dashboards.
20. Restores and cleans those roof racks on cars and so on.
21. Use on stem of an umbrella to make it open and close with ease.
22. Removes bug guts from cars paint with out causing damage.
23. Allows windows to move more freely in their tracks if there is a problem.
24. Stops squeaks in electric fans.
25. Spray saw blades and other tools to prevent rusting.
26. Use on dryers and washers to lubricate fan belts to keep them running nice.
27.Use to remove grease splashes on stove.
28. Lubricates prosthetic limbs.
29. Spray on bathroom mirror to prevent fogging.
30. Spray on any area there are pigeons, they hate the smell and will stay away.
31. Removes duct tape residue.
32. Some even spray WS 40 on joints to relieve the pain of arthritis.
33. If bitten by fire ants spray area with WD 40 to remove the sting of the bites right away.
34. It is known that WD 40 will attract fish. Some people spray their bait with it before fishing. Though the use of this is not allowed in many areas.
35. Use it to remove crayon marks from the walls.


These are some of the uses I have found for this great product. The best part of all this is that WD 40 is generally a safe product to use in the home around children and pets.

A friend of mine used it on her vinyl floor tiles. She says you just spray a little bit here and there and rub it in with a cloth. She says it makes the floors shine like they are brand new and it isn't slippery.
