Default Tornado Damage in Alabama

The tornado damage in Alabama from those recent storms is just unimaginable. I feel for those people so much. It's such a shame that things can be destructed so fast.

President Obama visited Alabama and toured the worst hit sections. He told the people that he would make sure they are not forgotten.

So many houses just nothing but a pile of rubble now. Lives lost. It's so sad.

Quote:
We can't control when or where a terrible storm may strike, but we can control how we respond to it," Obama said on Thursday. "And I want every American who has been affected by this disaster to know that the federal government will do everything we can to help you recover and we will stand with you as you rebuild."

The death toll is at it's largest from tornados since 1974 when 315 people were killed. Right now the death toll for these tornados stands at 300. They expect that number to grow.

I hope the poeple of Alabama are able to come together and rebuild their communitites.

I am blessed in that I have never been through a tornado like that. I saw a tornado once but it wasn't anything major at all.

How terrible that has to be. I feel so bad for those people. There whole lives turned upsidedown in an instant. Most things can be replaced but what about the sentimental things such as photographs, wedding gowns, Grandma's china. It's aweful!

And all of the lives lost. Just horrible.

I have many friends in the Alabama, Georgia and the Carolina's and feel lucky that they all made it through with only minor damage and no electricity for up to 7 days.

I did however have a Facebook friend that was only 20 years old that we found out from her sister yesterday she did not make it.

The state of Alabama issued a Tornado Emergency to the whole state and told everyone to find cover. I couldn't imagine.

The housing damage, property damage and loss of life was remarkable and I hope those effected can get back to some sort of normalcy soon.

We all take for granted every day life. Most of the time we don't take into consideration that everything can be gone in an instant!!

We seem to only stop and think about this kind of stuff when we hear about these instances like the southern states.

I am truely sorry to hear about your friends sister Propiper!!! I hope that they will heal soon.
