Default The Jack Frost Check List

Every year I make up my Jack Frost check list. This is a list of all the things that need to me done to and around the house to prepare us for the winter months ahead.

On my check list I have check furnance. This is when we turn the furnance on and let it run for about 20 minutes to get that funny smell out of it because it wasnt used for so long and to also make sure that it is working properly.

Another to do on my list is to check all the seals around the doors and windows. This is to make sure that we are not leaking alot of cold air into the home.

We will also be checking the wood burner that is out in the garage to make sure that it also will work properly. We have that in the garage because if there is a power outage or another emergency we can all head to the garage and keep warm, another reason for it, is because my sweetie is a mechanic and sometimes he needs the garage in the winter time. This wood burner is also to make it comfortable for him to do his work in.

Checking our gutters is another to do on my list. This is when gutters are cleaned out well and check for any damage or repairs that may need to be done.

Another winter to do item, is one my sweetie always takes care of. He checks all of our cars, changes all the fluids, and generally gives them a good going over to make sure that there isnt any problems with them that could cause problems later. Of course things could still happen, but usally he can stop problems before they cause serious injury or death.

These are the kinds of things that are always put onto my check list every winter.

Do you also make up a check list of things that have to be done? I always thought it was a good idea to do so.

What are some of the things that you place on your Jack Frost list, maybe your check list will help others with things that they may have overlooked.
