Stormy Weather
I don't know how the weather is where everyone lives, however I know what it has been like here in Ohio and it hasn't been good.
We have been seeing a whole lot of storms and high winds. Hell yesterday we had tornado warnings for my area and things got pretty bad but thankfully there weren't any tornado's.
There were several places in the area that had lost power because of the storm. I was bad and hopefully soon these storms will be over with and we can start to enjoy the summer weather.
I have to admit that I am glad that the sun isn't shining a whole lot though. This is because on Memorial Day my family gathered at the baseball field to watch the parade, watch the kids play ball and enjoy some good food. Though sadfully the price is one severe sunburn!!!! It was a whole lot of fun though for the last few days I have been dealing with some very sore shoulders!! Sleeping has been very difficult.LOL. I really need to invest in some sun screen!!!

Re: Stormy Weather
We have been seeing a ton of rain here where I live. And with the rain we get the high winds and a lot of lightning too. It's been crazy. We have had lots of downed trees and power outages. I will be glad when Spring is over with all of this crazy weather.

Re: Stormy Weather
I don't mind the stormy weather too much since most of the southern US states are behind in rainfall.
But you sure can't get much done outdoors when it's wet. There's lawns to be mowed, tree branches to trim, and several more manual labor yard jobs that need finished.

Re: Stormy Weather
Well I was wrong on one statement that I made. There was actually a tornado in Ohio however it was not in my area but it wasn't to far off. There was some damage done but I believe that it was mostly to trees. I only caught a small part of this on the news and that is what I heard. There could have been more damage done though.
I am just thankful that it didn't hit in our area. That is one thing I just don't ever want to deal with, not that anyone really ever does.

Re: Stormy Weather
There have been some really bad storms in the past few weeks here, especially in the afternoon to mid afternoon.
It has hailed here and flooded the streets because the rain was coming down so fast and hard.It had nowhere to go but to stand on the roads and on the ground.
There were a lot of wrecks around where I work during the storms, rescue squads were everywhere slong the road that I work on.

Re: Stormy Weather
That is horrible to hear troubles74. I hope that there were no serious injuries. People tend to pay more attention to the storm rather than what they are doing behind the wheel and that causes a lot of accidents.
Something else I've noticed is that there are those people who speed up during heavy rains in an attempt to get out of it. They speed up when they need to be slowing down.
Today is going to another one of those days here in my corner of the world again. It's has been raining hard on and off all morning and it does'nt look like that is going to change any time soon.
There will be more damage done to homes, roads and of course most likely traffic accidents as well.
My neighbor just put up a small wooden fence around his garden and already three of the pieces he put in are missing and no one knows where they have gone. The winds have been horrible and I am really looking forward to when it is all over.
April showers are supposed to bring may flowers, however the june showers are killing the may flowers in a lot of places.

Re: Stormy Weather
We had another round of bad weather today,it rained a lot and lightning, man I believe that where I work is lightening central,it was so loud. The customers that we had ordered more coffee and tea and some got dessert and waited out the weather to keep from driving in it.
There have been a few bad wrecks around here from all of the bad weather,so I was glad to see my customers stay with me rather than get out in the mess.

Re: Stormy Weather
The weather has been crazy this past week! I guess yesterday we got two inches of rain in one hour! I sure hope we don't flood! And it isn't done yet either. We are supposed to have more storms tomorrow and three other days this week!

Re: Stormy Weather
It is sad to say this but there are going to be many areas flooding because of all this rain.
The ground is only able to soak up so much, and with all the rain we have been getting and that which is yet to come. Yeah we are going to sadfully see many floods this year.
A friend of mine who works for an insurance company mentioned that there are a whole lot of people who have been coming in to get flood insurance on their homes. So this is yet another clue that people are expecting a lot of flooding.
I hope that it doesn't get to awfully bad but something tells me that it may get that way.
Where I live we don't exactly flood however the roads leading into where I live do tend to flood which means that we have to travel over the hills to get out.
What normally is a 15 minute trip to the store, will end up taking us about 45 minutes to an hour just to get to the same store when the roads flood.
Also when the flooding begins, there of course is more damages done to homes, vehicles, gardens and so on. Before this all starts it is a very good idea to make sure that basements are sealed properly, appliances such as washers and dryers if kept in an area that might flood should be raised up and so on.
Like I said I hope that things don't end up getting that bad, but at times mother nature really likes to screw with all of us.
