Default Pet Odors

My poor doggy must have a sick tummy right now because three times today he has poo'd on my hallway floor! He NEVER does any of his business in the house so I am thinking he isn't feeling real well. Not trying to be gross but it was runny too so thats my second clue that he is ill.

I of course scrubbed it up right away but I swear I can still smell it and there is a bit of a stain.

What is the best thing to use on carpeting for dog stains and odor?

I used this carpet cleaner.. it's just an off brand which has always worked for me on other stains such as juice and whatnot from the kids but it isn't touching this one.

Any suggestions are much appreciated!

I know that there are couple of different ways to get the smell out of carpets especially pet odors. They seem to last forever.

Try sprinkling the area with baking soda and letting it sit for a while then scrub the area. This may remove the odor and the stain.

Then there is the idea of using lemon juice. Though this may discolor some carpets so try it out in an area where it can not be seen to test it out.

Pet odors are something that is not only horrible, but also they seem to not want to come out, so you will have to work on this area for a good bit of time before it is completely cleaned up and the smell is gone.

Good luck with this.

The best thing to use for situations such as this is a product called Urine Off.

This product completely removes the stain and the odor in usually just one application.

I have two cats and when the boy was a kitten, he didnt make it to the litter box in time and of course it was on a carpeted floor.

This product removed the stain and odor both. And thats really hard to accomplish on cat odors, but it did it with only one application.

You may have to go to your vet to get this product, but it is well worth the trip and the cost, it is that good.

We usually buy carpet freshing products from the store where we will sprinkle it, let it sit for thirty minutes and then vaccuum it up.
That does the trick for us.
You can also get the same type of pet odor remover for you furniture, too.

This may not be on topic, but we've been getting a lot of ticks in our house this year, from the pets.
The ticks don't seem to be staying on our pets, but dropping off once they enter the cool house and then we end up finding them crawling on us (I know it's creepy, isn't it?).

Wish I could use an insecticide on the yard, but we have ferral baby kittens outside and I'm affraid they'll be harmed.

DynoFlip here are some ways to help get rid of the ticks in your yard which will help keep them out of the house and off of you.

Ticks hate short grass so keeping your lawn trimmed short will help force them to move on to another area. Ticks like taller grass because it is easier for them to attatch themselves to pets and people when they walk by. Short grass prevents this so they tend to move on.

Also you can purchase a product called "Skin so Soft" insect repellents. Spray this stuff around your home and through out the yard. This product contains Citronella Oil which ticks and other insects dislike and isn't harmful to your ferral pets. Also to help keep the ticks from entering your home try using products like frontline or advantage on house pets that go outside. These things keeps fleas and ticks off your pets which means that these pests will no longer have a free ride into your home.

I used to have the same problem with ticks and this is what I did. Now I don't seem to have tick problems or fleas anymore at all.

When Spring first arrived I saw several ticks but I haven't seen any since. Thank goodness, I hate those things!!!

My doggie seems to be feeling better... no more accidents. I was able to get the stain out with a carpet spray sold at Family Dollar. It worked to get the stain out as well as the odor.

Thanks for the great tips guys.

There is another way to get rid of the bugs. It will work for the ticks and any other nasty little creepy crawly in or out of you house and it is safe for you and your pets. A pesticide that uses eugenol oils instead of chemicals will get rid of them. This oil is what plants naturally have in them to keep bugs from destroying them. It kills them dead thats for sure. It is safe around people and animals so it wont harm anyone. The main sorces are from cinnamon and cloves things like that. Also one toothache medicine i have used has eugenol oil as its main ingredient. Its what stops the pain. A good type of eugenol oil pesticide to look up is Ecosmart. Its a good brand to use and is safe and cheap.
