Default Moving

So your house has finally sold, now comes the hard part. The Move. This can be a very emotional time as you are leaving your home, friends, and most likely family too.

Then comes the work involved in moving from one home to another. One of the first things you should do before you move is make a list of what goes and what stays. If you arent sure you are going to take the fridge, put it on the list anyway, you can always remove it from your list later.

As you go through your possessions in preparation of your move, now is the best time to get rid of things you dont or wont need or use. If you have hired a mover, weight may have an effect on the price you will pay to have your possessions moved.

Also make a list of what utilities need to be shut off and which ones need to be transferred to your new home. It wont do to get to your new home and not have a phone or electricity or water, or to pay an extra bill on a utility you forgot to have shut off at your old home. And, dont forget to have your mail transferred.

If you hire professional movers to move you, be sure to let the neighbors know at both homes the date of your home as the Moving Truck takes up a lot of space and can cause problems in traffic patterns.

If you decide to make the move entirely on your own and rent a moving truck, be sure to get one that will hold all of your belongings that will be moved. Theres nothing worse than to have a full truck and still have a whole room to go.

Pack the Television and Video Games last, you are going to need a way to keep the kids entertained when you get to your new home and are unpacking.

Default Re: Moving

I have been through this several times. If at all possible get professionals to come in and back your things up. Less gets broke that way and they are insured. I could never move myself anymore.
