Default Maximize Space

Not everyone is lucky enough to have a large house with rooms that feel roomy and lots of closet storage. There are lots of things that you can do to make a room feel bigger and to maximize the space that you have.

Installing floor to ceiling windows is one of the best ways to make any room feel a lot bigger than it is. They make a room feel extended beyond the windows.

If you don't have a lot of storage space installing closet organizers will help you to take full advantage of the space that you do have. Buyers really like closet organizers as well.

Don't stuff any room that is on the small side with too much furniture or large pieces. That will just make the room appear smaller than it is and make it feel stuffy. People don't look for cozy so much anymore as they was open spaciousness.

Keeping the wall colors light will also make a room feel larger than it is.

Tray ceilings aslo give the appearance of a bigger room.

In a small house you have lots of options beyond tearing down walls and starting from scratch.

Another thing that I find helpful is mirrors, they give the affect the room is larger then it actually is.I used them in a very small room and it gave the room the feel that it is twice the size.It really made a big difference for the feel of the room.

You can also use small about 4 inches wide shelves along the wall, you can store all of your different things that you would usually put on end tables and stuff on it.This helps from having a small empty room that you can not fit furniture in to have to place decorative things on.

Furniture placement can make or break a room space wise.

I have a good sized living room and the furniture was always in the same general place but this year, after washing all the walls and cleaning the carpet and windows etc, I decided to rearrange the whole room.

The plan I came up with for furniture placement now makes the room look twice the size that it was.

Instead of looking too full, the furniture placement now makes it look as if I have room to spare and now the room has what seems to be much more floor space.

And nothing at all was removed from this room to achieve this look.

Also, changing from a darker curtain to light airy ones gives the room a totally new look.
