Default Is your Home ready for anything

Every one knows what they should have in their homes to prevent accidents form happening but do we have them to protect our families and children form harm or to be alerted to a potential hazzard.

I bet 75 percent do have them in place and 25 percent have not. If you think about it most accidents happen more in the home or close to your home then one would think and do we all know what we should have in our homes to protect us and our familys

Here are a few sites to look at to see if you have what you need to protect your self and ur familys every home should have a escape route planes and divices for their portection

We aren't ready that I know for sure. We need to get good fire alarms for our home. The biggest issue with using them is that we use wood for heat and there is always some smoke when you stoke the fire. I would hate to have them going off constantly. We also need fire extinguishers for our kitchen and basement areas. But one of the most important things to remember is how to quell a grease fire. NEVER use water use a lid to cover and apply salt or baking soda.

I have smoke alarms but the batteries do need to be checked and replaced. I actually do that every first of the year and again on the fourth of July. Twice a year. Thats about it though. I need to get on the ball and get my home and family protected.

Thanks for the info.

We are good to go protection wise at our house. But do remember that when you buy fire extinguishers, you need a different kind for the garage and basement than you would buy for you main floor.

Also, carbon monoxide detectors and radon detectors should be installed. Any type of oil or gas furnace can give off carbon monoxide fumes which are undetectable and could lead to death.

Also be sure to store all cleaning products in an area where small children cannot get to them. Most deaths of children are because they have gotten into some kind of cleaning fluid.

Remember, safety first.
