Default House Shopping

Unfortunately my sister-in-law and her husband have split and now she is house shopping.

I went with her today to look at a couple of houses. She has never had to do anything like that on her won before and she just wanted someone to help her out. I love to look at houses so of course I was game.

To be honest, I was completely suprised at how cheap the houses are still selling for in my area. I mean the market has picked up some and we at the end of the recession I believe.

I think she will be able to get a really good deal.

She hasn't decided on one definitely yet but we did check out a really nice one today. It's got four bedrooms, a nice kitchen with losts of cupboard space and two baths. Oh a full basement as well. It's selling for $63,000. It does need to be painted on the inside but thats not a big deal. It does have some very old carpeting in it but we lifted it up a bit and discovered beautiful hardwoods! They don't even need redone! The outside of the house is fine as it is.

I'm not sure but I think that will be the one. We will have to see what a home inspection finds but as long as there is nothing major this one is worth the asking price.

That sounds like one very nice house but, I would recommend someone be there when the home inspection is done.

I guess this recommendation comes from watching Holmes on Homes so much and seeing what he has found that never should have passed inspection and most of these inspections were done without the potential buyer being there.

So, better to be safe than sorry later and she should be there for the inspection if at all possible to prevent things being passed that shouldnt be.
