There are a lot of them that are run down, but then there are also some that need little or no work. There was a house three down from mine that was pretty much move in ready and sold very quickly. Then of course I have seen a TON that needed a lot of work too.

Default Has anyone purchased a HUD home?

Do they sell the run down homes for cheap? I would hope so the money you would have to put in would probably hurt.

I've seen them going at huge discounts lately. The more run down the cheaper they usually are... if you go to your local hud site there is a place you can see the bid results and statistics.

Hey Jared, thanks for pointing out that we can see the bid results for these houses. I wasnt aware that that information was available to the public. Plus seeing the statistics on these homes can be a great benefit too.

Wow Thanks Jared for the wonderful advice and insight on purchasing a hud home.. Im sure with the market being a buyers market right now if you get the home inspected first and make a resonable offer on a hud home it would be a great first investment.

Default Has anyone purchased a HUD home?

Sorry Jared yes she is and now so is my husbands cousin. She
has no money to put down and has alot of other things on the
table right now I guess. He only has 20 thousand and that is the
total amount that he wants to spend. Actually it is all he has and
needs to buy a home out right. He has had alot of health issues and
got a permanent lay off from work. Now he needs a home that he can't
loose or have to move out of for whatever reason. Thank you for asking
it is so nice to have someone who is thinking about us all.
