Great Floor Decor
I just read some where a great way to decorate your wood floors with out the use of rugs or alot of other hassles.
The things needed to do this project are a couple of stencils with 8" motifs, interior latex paint, tape measure, pencil, yard stick, paint brushes, painters tape, and polyurethane.
This project is started off by measuring and marking off the outer permiter of the floor area to be bordered.
Measure and mark any additional lines at about 11/2" inside the perimeter. Next apply the painters tape along the outer edge of each line, then apply the color of paint you desire to the area between the taped area for your border.
The next step is to make a decision as to where you wish to place your stencils on the floor with in the perimeter to make your floor show. Mark where you want your stencils with the pencil, though make sure that your stencils will be evenly spaced.
When your ready to begin painting your stencils, be sure to tape them in place to prevent your stencil from sliding, and when done lift carefully off the floor so that you do not mess up the work you have just completed. Also be sure to rinse and dry your stencil after each use as well.
Now once all patterns are in place and completed allow to dry for several hours or over night, then apply one or more coats of polyurethane over the floor to protect your hard work and allow it to dry well between each coats.
