High rate of forclosures and poor economy hitting American hard. People with 2 incomes that never thought they would need assistance, are now signing up for help through food banks and emergency assistance to help to pay bills.

They were a hardworking Geauga County family trying to make ends meet when their lives were swept up in the foreclosure crisis.

Although both parents work, they couldn't keep up with ballooning mortgage payments that grew $300 beyond their budget. Soon, the electric company turned off the lights -- twice. The finance company repossessed the car. The kids had to drop their dance classes and other activities.

These are the families that my heart goes out to. They are not the deadbeats that we have heard so much about. They are just hardworking people trying to buy a home. Then those mortgage payments ballooned and they couldn't keep up. I wish them, and all families like them good luck in the future.

Its not only the balloon payments etc. that are the problem these days. Its as I have been saying all along, we just arent making enough money to make ends meet and to feed our family and get the gas we need just to get back and forth to work.

We need better jobs, with better hours and more pay per person to be able to make it these days. So when is someone going to step up to the plate and help out us little people? When are they finally going to see that we just arent making it? It doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out what is happening and wont take one to fix things if the people in high places would just get to it.
