Default Fall deck care.

Fall is the time of the year that I power wash my deck and then use a good wood sealer to get it ready to withstand the harshness of winter and the following Spring storms.

After power washing your deck, be sure to look it over carefully for any loose steps or hand railings, or for wood that needs to be replaced anywhere on the deck itself. Also be sure to pound in any nails that may have worked themselves loose, for instance on the steps.

Then apply your deck sealant and your deck is ready to withstand the snow, sleet, and ice of winter and also the hail and driving rain from next springs many storms.
