Default Contractor Found Money and Gave it to Homeowner

I hate to say it but this is a real suprise these days.

Andrew Smith, Supervisor of Grand River Construction was doing some remodeling work for a man in a closet when money literally started to rain down on him.

He apparently didn't even stop to count the money but he called the homeowner to tell him what had happened.

There was a total of $700 in 50's 20's and 10's. It had been in a wooden bowl and had been wedged out of sight. The homeowner beleives it must have been put there by the previous owners.

The homeowner has been telling his story to everyone because he wants people to know what an honest, hard working group they are.

Quote:
“A company that’s honest today deserves a bit of boost to help them out. Somebody will read it and say I’m going to call those guys and get some work.
“The way society is today, everybody’s just out to con somebody, or take advantage,’’ Lukianenko said. “I just felt so good about it. It’s a feel-good story.’’
It's good to hear about people who are honest and who never think twice about doing the right thing.

I also got a surprise yesterday. I hurt my back sat. and had a brace on. I was buying 5 gallons of drywall mud and 5 gallons of paint. The lady ask me to pick it up so she could scan it and this man about 25 just reached over and said I'll get that for you as I see your back is hurt. He picked them both up for me and put the back in the buggy, then he went to my truck and put them in the truck. I thanked him and told him I appreciated it and he said that was ok and then got in his car and left. That goes to show you that despite of how bad we think that people have gotten their are still good people left in this world.

Realestatehound, let me start off my saying I am sorry to hear that you hurt your back. I hope that your going to be ok, and glad to hear that a stranger was nice enough to help you when you needed it.

Now as for Andrew Smith I am surprised that he didn't quickly pocket that money before the home owner saw it. Goes to show that there really are still some honestly good people in the world!!

I am also glad the home owner is spreading the word about this contractor because if he is honestly going to inform the home owner of something like money falling on him, then you can pretty much count on him to be honest about other things as well.

Its great to read about honesty these days. Too many times you hear about people that would have taken the money and not said a word.

This contractor should get big kudos on Angies list as there are too many times these types of things are left unsaid.

And I bet the homeowner was really appreciative to have "found money". Kinda takes the bite out of what he had to pay the contractor. And also I hope the homeowner saw fit to reward the contractor for his honesty.
