Default Cleaning the garage.

The Garage is one of those places that we decide we should store our unused items.

After a period of time it becomes a clutter box and has no use as a garage. I mean you can't even get the car in there anymore.

If you are going to clean it out you need to consider these hints.

1. Reserve time to do it and avoid distractions.

2. Be ruthless. If you haven't thought about it or used it in years its time to get rid of it.

3. If your done with it you don't have to just throw it away. Consider a yard sale.

4. Keep this cleanup in mind the next time you decide that you need to store something in the garage. Is it something you are going to use frequently or ever again. Save some time now and get rid of it if you don't need it.

Default Re: Cleaning the garage.

Our garage was also a cluttered mess. Though before we started doing alot of work on the house we decided we should start by cleaning out the garage, in case there were things in the house we needed to store.

While cleaning out the garage, we seperated items into three piles. Pile #1 was for holiday decorations and such, pile #2 was for items not used and pile #3 was for items that would be good for a yard sale.

After cleaning and seperating everything it was truely surprising just how much junk we were able to eliminate from the garage. Now everything is in clearly marked containers, and it will make it quite easy to find anything thats needed.

This also gave us plenty of room to store the new materials that we purchased for doing our kitchen renovations next spring!

Our garage is strictly my husbands. I am not allowed to store my stuff there lol. I think he knows it would become full of my things and no room for his! Oh well, I keep my stuff in the house and he gets the dirty old garage! Sounds fair to me!
