Default Cities With Highest Priced Homes

I was wondering where in the United States are homes selling at the highest prices. In other words, where should I avoid because there is no way in heck i could afford to buy a house or afford to live there.

These prices are the averages in these cities. Here goes....

1. Palo Alto, California- $ 1,180,000

2. Newport Beach, California- $ 1,008,000

3. Greenwich, Connecticut- $ 997,498

4. Santa Monica, California- $ 820,000

5. Arcadia, California- $ 737,500

6. Bethesda, Maryland- $ 725,000

7. Santa Barbara, California- $ 700,000

8. Mountain View, California- $ 642,000

9. San Francisco, California- $ 634,000

10. San Mateo, California- $ 632,500

Okay, so in other words, if you aren't rich don't move to California lol!!! This actually makes me happy because all my daughter talks about is moving to California and I don't want her to. So I will be showing her this lol!

This list doesn't surprise me in the least! California has a ridiculously high cost of living. On the bright side, if you own a home there, you can pretty much pay cash anywhere else in the country if you need to sell and move!

I see most of those CA home listings are in mid to southern California. Check out the prices further north. You can get a fairly nice home for around 200k.

I use to live in northern CA, around 100-120 miles south of Eureka, and I loved the mountians a wooded areas.

After living there twice and making bills that I could not pay off, I decided to leave CA behind. I miss it a lot though. Great weather too.
