Circuit breaker recalls.

Because of the fact that thousands of homes in the US are at fire risk because of counterfit circuit breakers, Miami Breaker has recalled 43,000 circuit breakers.

The recall was for the following reason: Square D which is part of Schneider Electric has determined these circuit breakers to be fakes.

This recall is the latest of at least 6 recalls of fake circuit breakers.

Real circuit breakers have the amp rating written in white on the handle on the front of the breaker. Plus it has Square D molded into the side of the real breaker, and it also has a yellow chromate clip with half the clip showing.

So be sure to check any circuit breakers you intend to use so that there will be no fire danger in your home.

Why in the hell would anyone want to make fake circuit breakers to begin with and second, aren't they inspected before thay can be shipped for sale? This is just crazy!

Sure goes to show that you just never know what you are buying anymore! You have to personally inspect everything yourself and make sure you know what you are looking for!
