Those are all very valid points. One of the most important things is to make sure that financially you are set for no matter what you run into during the renovations. You just never know what you might find when you start doing construction. I sure wouldn't want to be in the middle of a remodel and run out of funds because of the unknown!

I'm new here and reading all this great info but had to stop and comment here.

I was almost ready to pull the trigger on walling in my carport for and extra mud room and sun room.

Was going to DIY a lot of it but right before I started I got estimates on walling it in. WAY over what I had expected.

Good news I don't have a half completed project - bad news I still have a carport.
