Default Poor Construction

Man I can't get enough of watching that show called Holmes on Homes. This man finds some seriously poor construction that has been done to many homes.

It is sad that he has to come in and save the day by repairing all that previous contractors failed to do. Then again if they didn't screw things up Holmes wouldn't have a show.

It is just sad that his show is needed because there are so many contractors that have done poor work on homes. It is really sad!! I love watching his show though because I learn a lot about homes and how to make some repairs myself, what kind of things to look for and how to deal with things.

I guarentee that if I ever need a contractor to come and do any kind of work on my home, I will be doing a lot of research to make sure they have good references, have been in business for a while and so on. Plus I will most likely be watching the work they do carefully so that I know exactly what they have been done.

I love that show too! I watch it all the time. He does amazing work and he's kind of funny when he sees things that were done wrong. He gets really mad! He knows what he is doing though and it's a great show to watch.

This is a show that I also enjoy very much. It is a very informative show and gives you lots of ideas on things to watch for when you have someone doing work on your home.

We only hire Trigg Construction here at home for all of our needs as they are very conscientious about their work. They do it right to begin with so no worries about things once the crews leave.

Hiring the best and most honest contractors is the first step in avoiding the kinds of problems that Holmes finds.

Look them up on Angies List online and ask neighbors that have had work done, get their opinion on the contractors that they hired and the kind of work that they did. Word of mouth can be a big bonus when looking to hire a reliable contractor.

I, too, am a big fan--not only of the show, but of Mike Holmes as well .

Seriously, though, it's such a great resource for those of us who know absolutely nothing about hiring a contractor for big and small jobs. He has a great website as well as two great books that are perfect gifts for first-time homebuyers (and anyone wanting to have his face on their coffee table):

You can even buy his overalls!!

Hey there, thanks for letting us know about his website, I for one wasnt aware that he had one. And you say he has a couple of books out? I will be sure to look into those too.

Youre right about the books making great gifts. Nothing like being able to know what to do if you ever face the kinds of problems Holmes runs into.

But as to his overalls, no thanks. Not my style. lol
