Default House Hunter International

Have any of you ever watched this show before? I enjoy watching this show, but to be honest at times it is hard watching.

I mean I have seen people purchase homes that are in need of so much repair that it would most likely be cheaper to tear the house down and start over. Though they spend a million dollars for some of these houses if not more!!

It really is mind boggling!! I know that if I spend a million dollars for a home, and I don't care where it is located, it better be ready to live in and not need to be completely fixed up.

I am not saying that every house I hve seen someone buy on this show has been in horrible condition, because that just isn't true. I have seen some truely amazingly beautiful homes as well. Though of course I could never afford something like that, but it is always nice to dream....

I havent seen this show yet. But it is one that I will be checking out. It sounds very interesting.

I am with you, if I am going to buy a house that I plan on living in, I want it to be totally liveable from the start.

A couple of changes would be something I could handle, mainly because any changes made would be more to make it personalized for me and my husband, but to have to do massive repairs just would not happen.

One episode I watched it was a run down home in Italy that a couple had purchased for a vacation home. They spend 1.3 million dollars on this home and it needed to be completely renovated before they could live in the home.

Mind you most rooms in this house had been used for animals. One room was used as a barn to house their donkey because to get to this house only a donkey could do it. There was no other way to get to this house.

Now to me I think I could find a much better home to live in for that kind of money. They were going to need almost the exact same amount of money they paid for the house to get all the needed renovations done to the home to make it liveable. Also there was no indoor plumbing in this house what so ever. Sorry but that to me would have been a deal breaker right there!! LOL.
