Default Holmes on Homes

Have you ever watched the show Holmes on Homes? Thats one of my favorite shows on HGTV. It airs on Sundays at 8 pm Eastern.

Basically the show is about people who have hired contractors to do repairs or remodels in their homes and things either weren't finished or they were done incorrectly. Mike Holmes is then called in and he makes things right. It's a kind of show that reminds you to beware of who you are trusting your money and house to when you hire someone.

I watched one show the other day and this family with two small children started to get chronically ill about a week after they had renovations done. Well the guy they had hired cut corners with the outside walls and they ended up having major mold problems which was the cause for their illnesses. Let me tell ya, I think if Mike could have gotten a hold of that contractor it would not have been pretty. Mold can be deadly.

It is a pretty good show and Mike Holmes definitely knows his stuff.

I have never seen or heard of this show before, though it does sound like it would be very interesting to watch.

I will have to see if I can get hold of the remote and check it out sometime.

Thankfully the family you were talking about were able to hire that Holmes guy and get their home straightened out before there were deaths involved thanks to that crappy contractor.

It is scary when you don't know who to trust.

Yes it can,I owned an old farm house and I did not know at first but the house was eat up with mold and I lived there for eight years while remodeling the house and let me tell you,I woke up in the middle of the night and could not breath.

After a lot of doctor visits and all,we found out that I had become alergic to mold and that my house was killing me.I had to be put on breathing treatments and inhalers in order to breath.

Needless to say we didn't have the money to fix the home fast enough for my health and we had to sell the house,I hated that because we had so many memories in that house. My children grew up there, and had lots of friends near by that they had to leave.

Oh, wow I am so very sorry to hear that Troubles. That had to be very difficult for you to do, though I am glad that you did it. Your health is much more important than a house.

Homes can be replaced, but those people we love and call friends can never be replaced.
