HGTV Host Under Arrest

I hear that HGTV host of "The Unsellables" Anthony Sayers has been arrested and charged with one count of attempted fraud, extortion and two counts of criminal harassment.

Apparently Doreen Boulos has hired Sayers to finish some work that another contractor left undone. Well whatever work he did was not up to par and so Doreen decided to just pay him for the work that he had done and that would be it. She would get someone else to finish it up.

Well I guess Sayers kept on contacting Doreen, sometimes several times a day and he wasn't saying very nice things to her.

“The following weeks after that, the accused continued to contact the victim, sometimes several times a day, and the communications were hostile and seemed to be progressive,” Drummond said.
Police allege that Sayers claimed he had completed work that he could not prove or provide receipts for. On at least one occasion, police say, he approached Boulos in person to demand payment.
Boulos became so afraid that she temporarily moved out of the house, police say.

Police are asking any other people with similar complaints to come forward.

In a statement, Barbara Williams, senior vice-president of content for Shaw Media, said the incident involves Sayers’ personal contracting business and does not in any way relate to work conducted for The Unsellables, which airs on HGTV Canada.

“We do, however, take complaints of this nature very seriously and are working with our production partners to determine next steps pending the outcome of these allegations,” she said.

I wonder if thats all really true or if this lady is trying to get away with not paying. You just never know what to believe anymore. The facts will come out in court.

It is never good to hear things like this happening. I also agree that you just never know who to believe anymore though it will all come out in court and hopefully things will get settled.

I have watched this show many times because it is intresting to see just what they do to make the home on the show sell.

Some people try to sell a home and they don't stage it at all. It is surprising to me the things that people do and don't do to their home when they are trying to sell.

I hope that all of this won't have a negitive impact on the show. I would hate to see it disappear like some others have.
