Default people trashing homes as forclosers take over

It is so sad to hear how many people are losing their homes because of bad loans. So when they are pushed out by forclosures they are very upset. Upset enough to pour concret down the plumbing.

Borrowers facing foreclosure trash homes on the way out
Brendan Riley, AP

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - Some Nevadans who fall behind on their mortgages and face foreclosure are trashing the homes as they move out, a legislative study panel was told Tuesday.

Gail Burks of the Las Vegas-based Nevada Fair Housing Center said there's an increase in southern Nevada borrowers who are giving up when faced with foreclosure and "are taking things out of the property, they're putting cement down the plumbing."

Burks also said she's seen an increase in violations of a new state law that's intended to block bogus real estate deals and ensure that borrowers can afford a home loan. She also said there are more cases of renters being forced from homes going through foreclosure.

People I know that you are upset but please hold your heads up high and leave with diginty. You will survive and move on. I know alot of your dreams begin with a home but as long as you have your health and your family you will be fine.

This makes me feel sad for everyone involved. I can understand being angry when your home is taken from you, I would feel anger too. After saving and scrimping to buy a home and then someone says "You have to move since you can't pay this huge balloon mortgage payment" or something to that effect. The people will survive, but will have some scars from it. As to the damage done, it's not the financial institutions that will bear the burden, they can just write it off........but some poor soul will be doing a lot of clean up and repairs.

Not to mention the fact that if this keeps up, might the foreclosers file charges against the former owners for damages done? That would not be a good thing in the respect that these people have enough problems to begin with.

I'm sure that if they can prove who did the damage they will be prosecuted. And if not that it would be a tax write off for the bank. At least that would be my assumtion of what would happen. Does anyone know how they handle that.
