Default Spy On Other Flippers

Watching some videos on house flipping I found one that mentioned how they would check out homes that they planned on flipping and if their offer wasn't accepted they would wait for the house to be finished and come back onto the market to return and check it out.

They say that they have learned a lot of different things by doing this. Some mistakes that the house flippers have made as well as things that they both would and wouldn't have done.

Is this something that you house flippers here would recommend someone else just getting into the business to do to other flippers in the area??

Something tells me that other flippers sure wouldn't appreciate being spied on because it means that there could soon be more competition in the area for them to deal with.

So what is your opinions on something like this?

I don't understand why you would spy on other flippers. If you want ideas on how to redo your flips just go to open houses that realtors do every Sunday. We don't have many flippers around here because most either don't have the money, knowledge or that balls to flip. It really takes nerves of steel to flip and a great deal of knowledge and you can't get either by spying on other flippers. Their is only one way to learn to flip and that is educate yourself. Everything you need is public record. Something that I recommend to all my new agents is to find a new construction and watch them build it from the ground up and also to try and talk to the builder and most will even try to explain the process to you. Construction knowledge is a must for a flipper.

It's not what I called it actually. That is how the guy in the video I was watching it worded it.

Though I love the idea of watching a home being built and learning as much as possible from it.

I never would have thought of something like that. Which is why as you can tell I don't flip houses.

I was as I said watching this video on a couple of people who do flip houses and they tend to watch other flippers for ideas, do's and don't and what not!!

How did you come up with the idea to watch a home being built to learn about flipping? It is a very interesting idea and I am glad that you shared it with all of us.
