Default Electrical Safety

One of the biggest mistakes you can make is to mess around with electricity in a house if you are not a certified electrician. You can be seriously injured or killed.

Roughly 3,600 disabling electrical contact injuries occur every year in the United States, along with another 4,000 non-disabling injuries.
600 people die every year in the United States from electric shock.

A small night-light with a 6-watt bulb draws .05 ampere, and even that small amount of current can be fatal. Here are some effects of current (in milli amps) passing through a 150 pound body (note that perception is only .5 to 1.5 milli amps):
I cannot stress enough the need to have someone qualified to come in and handle electricity jobs for you. Whatever the cost is it's worth it.

Even when you hire a pro things can go wrong, check them out very well before letting them do anything to your home.

It never surprises me to see that people think that they know what they are doing and end up getting injured or causing a house fire.

Electricity isn't a laughing matter!! I have even seen electrictions get a bit startled while working on wiring in homes because they tough something wrong or heaven only knows what else.

Always check out an electriction before you hire them. Make sure that they are certified and know what they are doing, because one small mistake could cause death, loss of home and even loss of life!!
