Default Do Horrible Homes Sell?

Here is a good one for you flippers, hopefully you will be able to answer it easily.

My old man's place needs major repairs in the basement, plumbing, gutters, carpets and windows.

He has been thinking of just going ahead and paying the rest of it off and turning around and selling it. Though he thinks that he will be able to sell it as is with out putting any money into it and make still make a decent profit from the sale.

Do you all believe with the repairs needed (which are extensive) that it is possible?

I will tell you what I have seen in the house that still needs to be delt with. The bathroom is a mess, the tub is horrible, the toilet is ancient and there is no storage space at all in the bathroom what so ever. Next up the gutters are or have already fallen off the house- now these he is going to have fixed though don't know when. Then there is the front porch which the floors feels weak and probably should be replaced. Then the basement floods after every hard rain and has to be pumped out. Last but not least is the plumbing which is old, leaks and needs replaced.

So after hearing all of this do you think he could possibly get away with selling this place without putting a bunch of money into it??

Default Re: Do Horrible Homes Sell?

If a house is cheap enough I believe any house can sell, I know a guy selling this plain out dump, that sits in a well known flood zone, but he did sell it once on land contract, but they fell 6 months behind, so now it is back up for sale he wants 27,500, but not north the 500, it is a real dump, but someone bought it once so probably someone will again.
