Default Cutting Corners

I would have to say that one major problem that some house flippers make is cutting to many corners.

After watching shows several renovation shows and what not on TV I have seen some people do some seriously strange things to the houses they are working on to save a buck and time.

I know it is important to get a house, fix it up quickly and get it sold all as fast as possible to increase the profit margin but geez, cutting corners can cause a lot of problems later on leaving the new owners in a mess.

So for you house flippers here how do you manage to cut corners without risking safety?

One thing I saw was a back deck which was about 20 feet off the ground and the railing was not attatched to the house and a few people were injured when the railing gave way. This is the kind of thing and worse that I have seen.

Hey Home Alone, it sad to say but we live in a world where money rules and to hell with everything else. I get so sick of seeing some of the things that go on in home update, everything from home owners trying to do their own updates to builders and flippers. They just want it done and they don't care about how it is done or what it looks like. Their is only one way to do anything and that's the right way. You can find out how to do just about anything on the net now. I wish the world we lived in was different, but I'm afaird it's only going to get worse. People used to take pride in their work, but anymore they just want their check. I guess that's why I do most of my work myself on my homes.

It is a shame that people do cut corners like they do. I have seen some seriously horrible things and rather dangerous things people have done in their homes. It is scary.

I am glad that you do most of the work on your homes. It sounds like you are seriously unwilling to cut any corners when doing the work needed. This means that anyone in the home is going to be safe because things were done properly.
