Default Clothing Insulation

A friend of ours just purchased a home near us and they are planning on flipping the house and then reselling it for a profit. This is something that they have done before in the past and they do know what they are doing.

Though one thing that they were not expecting is the problem that they ran into with the insulation in the house.

Only two room in the entire home had insulation in them. The rest had old CLOTHES stuffed in the walls along with stuffed animals and so on.

We were all totally shocked to find that kind of stuff in the walls of the home. No wonder there was so many problems with the home when it came to keeping it warm or cool.

Clothes and toys dont make very good insulation, not to mention the fact that we were all amazed that there was never a fire in the house because of the clothing stuffed into the walls.

We are not able to tell who exactly who decided that clothes would make good insulation, but truth be told....They Dont!!!

Today the rest of the walls will be torn away and then the new insulation will begin being put into place before the walls are again fixed up.

Oh and the more work that is done on this house the more they are falling in love with it, so my guess is that they are no longer fixing it to sell it but rather to live in it, and proably sell their other home.

Nope, clothing would not be the best idea when it comes to insulation. Hey, you never know though, maybe they didn't have any money and thought that would be better than nothing at all. They must not have considered what a fire hazzard that is though!
