Default Trim and Ceiling Paint

It's just about that time of year for me. Time for the Spring cleaning and some painting too. I am actually looking forward to it. I usually dread it but it really needs done.

My trim boards and ceilings are begging for a fresh coat of paint! We just went this past weekend and purchased the paint but the weather hasn't cooperated with us so far. It has done nothing but rain rain rain! I don't like to paint when the air is damp. It takes longer to dry. I also want to paint some walls but that will wait a little while longer.

As for the Spring cleaning I have gotten some done. I will hit it hard next weekend though when I am off. I should be able to get a lot done then.

It's amazing what we accumulate over time! I don't know where this stuff comes from! I will be glad to make a trip to the Salvation Army to give them a donation!

Do you guys have any home projects in the works?

Yep the next project is a new oil furnace. We are in the process of getting estimates on the job and of course, we will have the furnace moved to a different location in the basement which means that a good bit of rearranging will have to be done.

When we get the furnace done, we are having all of the duct work replaced as this has been here since before we bought the house in 1986 and is in dire need of replacemant to eliminate a lot of dust and dirt.

Also, registers will be relocated and place in the floor as the wall registers just dont serve the way they should when it comes to heat displacement. They need to be on the outside wall of each room instead of where they are now located.

We will remove the old duct work to save many hundreds of dollars on the installation of the new duct work. Thus saving quite a bit on the total bill.

Then I will do my "spring" cleaning and painting.

You both sound like you really have your plans laid out well. I have been doing several projects at once. I am getting estimates on getting the gutters replaced, going through paint colors for the bedrooms and kitchen, getting estimates on getting the basement fixed as well as getting the bathroom renovated.

I too have my hands full with things that are hopefully going to get done and done soon here. I love when Spring rolls around because I seriously don't like the snow and ice we deal with throughout the winter months, but in a way I dislike it a little bit because thats when it is time to clean house, paint, make repairs and what not. Its a hassle but well worth it!

We just had our new garage door installed and because it was a little wider than the old one, there had to be new trim added which means that the trim will have to all be repainted. Then of course, the outside basement walls will have to get a coat of fresh paint.

I have a lot of paint projects planned for this spring and am just waiting for the rain to stop. Its been raining here in Ohio an awful lot lately and it sure is holding up a lot of outside projects for everyone.

OMG guys I am so embarrassed to admit this but my kitchen ceiling was GROSS!

I honestly didn't think it was that bad before we started painting it but once we got that first swipe of paint applied you could really see how dirty it was!

Now that I think about it, we didn't paint it last year. Man we should have!

It looked almost brown it was so dirty. I am so glad to have it done!

I hope no one else noticed how bad it was lol!

Now I am super pumped about getting the rest of them done this Spring. I think the kitchen was the worst one. Probably because of all the cooking in there. Grease seems to get into the air when you cook sometimes I think.

Anyhow, it looks a whole lot better now!

I was hoping to get the second coat on the garage door trim painted but my back has been out for a couple of weeks now and just doing the first coat took a real toll on me.

I finally gave up and am seeing a chiropractor who is helping a lot so I hope that after a couple of more treatments that I will be able to get back to the painting and stuff that needs to be done.

I have a fence out front that needs afresh coat of paint. The outside basement walls and a few rooms inside that need repainted and cant wait until I am able to get back to it.

I also have ceilings that need to be repainted but think I will get my son or son in law to paint them.
