Default The Dining Room Project

Our dining room isnt a room that we use, other than as for decoration. It holds all the grape items that my hubby collects.

Its quite beautiful, though it really has no function, at least not as what it should be used as. Our kitchen is where we cook and eat, even on special occasions and holidays.

Though we have learned quickly that when we get everyone together for a dinner on a holiday or special occasion, there really is no room to move in the kitchen!

Because of this we decided next Spring/ Summer we are going to knock out the wall in the existing dining room and add onto it. The add on will be big enough of a room to place a large dining room table, where we can all sit to eat with out being all squished together.

This will also make cooking much easier as everyone wont be hanging around in the kitchen while I am trying to cook!!!

I had pictures of the room, but for the life of me I can seem to find them on my computer.... I will take a couple of pictures soon and post them so you will be able to see what we are planning to do exactly.

That is a very good idea,I would opwn the dinning room all the way up and tie the two rooms together decor wise.Putting the grapes all over the kitchen as well as the dinning area.

Cherry wood or dark stain goes really will with grapes and grape vine type decor. Some white christmas lights entwined with the vines do very well to accent the greenery.

Another color or decor that goes well with grapes is stainless steel. It is a very clean and bright feature to add to your kitchen and dinning area. There are some nice styles of bar stools as well alot of other stainless type decor to match.

The purple from the grapes and the greens as well need to be the basic color theme of your rooms.Using the lights will help to give recess type lighting to the room.

Remember if the room needs to have a bigger feel, mirrors are very functional for this purpose.

Good Luck and send pictures before and after when you are done.
