Default Renovating.

Renovating your home or a flip can be a headache especially if you are not properly prepared. It is in your best interests to take the time to plan your renovation projects. This way you have an idea of how much it will cost and how long it may take.

Start your projects with an idea of I will be starting here and finishing there. It is kind of like not painting yourself into a corner. You wouldn't start painting at your exit and end surrounded by a wet floor and no where to go.

Ceiling to floor is my first rule. It is easier to work from the top down. This makes clean up much easier and saves energy. I don't want to have to continuously carry things up and down the stairs between projects.
Planning also helps you budget the amount of money necessary to complete your renovations. If you know what you are going to do you can comparison shop for the necessary materials. Knowing what the project entails also allows you to have the tools you need readily available. Nothing irritates me more than having to stop mid project because I need a tool that I don't have and then to top it off I can't locate the proper tool.

I hope that your renovations go smoothly and are well below your budget for them this will make you a happy person when they are completed. More money in your wallet and a job well done makes for a very happy person.

Default Re: Renovating.

LOL, I just wrote a post about how I intend to completely gut and re-do my bathroom this spring. Everything in it is so old. Everything needs to be replaced, things are just completely worn out. I am wondering what types of materials would be the best for me to use in the bathroom as far as cost and durability. If you have any suggestions please let me know. Thanks!
