Default Our Living Room

I have mentioned before that due to a bathroom leak, we had to have our living room ceiling completely torn out and replaced.

Well when the workers were finished, we noticed that there was a gap between the ceiling and the wall. I do not know why this was left that way, but the workers said there was nothing that could be done to fix it.

Yeah I know what your thinking that is a load of crap and it is. I may not be a professional drywall installer but I know that a small piece of drywall could have been put into place to close that gap!

Any how rather than try to fix the problem and possibly mess up the rest of the ceiling or the wall, we are simply going to cover the gab between the ceiling and the wall with a shelf.

I tried to take picture to show you all the gab that was left behind, but the pictures were comming out so dark that you couldnt really see anything. Though I will be sure to post pics of the shelf once we have it in place.

We decided to go with just putting up a shelf there because one its an inside wall which means we really dont need to worry about cold drafts leaking in, and two our living room is full of coke a cola collectables and a shelf will give us more room to place more of our coke items.

If I were you I would make the workers fix it. I have a lot of drywall and carpenters in family and they are not suppose to leave it like that. they cut it to short is what they done and just do not want to redo it. But make them anyways.

That is what I told Rob he should do. Though they claimed that because of the age of the house the rooms are no longer perfectly squared and that is why they couldnt fix this problem.

Everyone knows its a bunch of crap, but apparently Rob doesnt want to bother wasting the time trying to argue with these people. He did however take the time to contact his insurance company which recommended this company and gave them an ear full.

We will deal with the problem one way or another here, but hopefully the insurance company wont recommend them for future work!!

I would make the repair mem fix it,these people get away with murder now a days, because people don't won't to hassle with what it takes to make some of them to make it right.Yes it is a hassle and a pain, but if we all let people get away with this kind of thing, well everyone will start doing crappy work.

It is hard to find a good repair man these days, alot of companies don't have very much ethic about themselves. It is a shame to ,because we are smatter and better than that as a whole.

I think that you should take a stand and make them fix thier work and make it right for you. That is the right and honest thing to do.Do what you have to,to make them admit thier mistakes and make them right,do not be one to let them continue and maybe do this to somone elses home.
