Default Landscaping

I hear alot of talk about how landscaping is important and to budget 10-15% of your flip budget to landcaping

I've re-landscaped a few yards and heres a secret on how to do a kick ass yard for pennies

1) Buy mulch by the yard hagle a deal at a localy owned landscaper material place. $40 is a good price 5 yards or more they should deliver for free

2) Use natural rock for borders you can find good sandstone near any highway road construction site in a giant pile.. Tip a worker a few bucks and you can grab a whole truck bed full

3) Box woods are cheap and make nice shrubs, grasses, are cool for corners. Create a ccenter piece something with color knockout roses are good for this. You can also create cool arangements with mini trees like a japanese maple.

4) If you really want to blow someone away a mini koi pond isnt that much $ Dig a hole with a patern at least 4ft deep I go 6. Throw in used carpet so weeds dont grow. Cover with a thick rubber tarp. Stake the tarp in the ground make a arangement of grasses, rock, & mulch around edge of pond. Throw in some lilly pads, a few gold fish from pet store and boom your done. This should cost about $200. This doesnt include labor

5) Here is where I may catch some flack but o well. When doing landscaping its brute force work so any laborer will do as long as the can whats asked. I grab a guy or 2 from the nearest labor spot and pay them $10 an hour

With this method you can knock what a landscaping servie may charge 2500 for down to 1000 or less.
