Default Garage Work

Well now that the weather has turned beautiful, its time to begin the garage project that we have been planning on doing since last year.

We have a two car garage, though only one side of it has ever been used at a time. The other side we plan on making into nothing but storage space and possibly a small apartment on top. The apartment thing we are still up in the air about, but we are keeping that option open.

The one side of the garage is mainly used for detailing cars and trucks, and on occasion sometimes some minor automotive work. Though nothing that would keep a car in there. We all park in front of the house because its more convenient to park there rather than in the garage.

So the one side of the garage will be turned into a place for storage with shelves lining the walls and possibly a few down the center.

The other side will contain all the tools and stuff needed for detailing cars, but will also have enough space left over for a garage sale if I wish to have one here.

Wish us luck on this project. Its going to be a back breaker as there is a lot of work that is going to need to be done.

It does sound like a lot of work but it will be well worth it in the end. I need more storage where I live. I would love to have a big room for nothing other than my stuff lol! Believe me, I have enough stuff to fill a large room! I wouldn't even mind getting one of those storage sheds. That would be really nice.

I just moved in with my mom and we had to clean out her garage so that we had more room to store stuff, man she is a pack rat.

She had stuff that was so old and torn up that you could barely know what it was. There was over two truck loads of stuff that could not be used anymore and it cost us over fifty bucks to dump it all.

When we were through there was only one little corner of stuff left and we were able to store it all up in the loft.

Now mom has an entire garage to work this summer in lets just hope she don't just clutter it right back up.

There are a lot of people to who seem to be allergic to space. If they see an open space they just have to get it filled with something.

If your Mom is like that, then maybe she will need your help in keeping that urge under control.

To bad that stuff was so torn up and unusable because you probably could have had one heck of a yard sale.

There are several people in my family as well as a few friends that are also pack rats. They seem to collect anything and everything possible. Whether it is usable or not. Then once they have one space filled they move on to another or even purchase storage sheds and begin filling it or them with more junk.

I wont claim that they need to be on the show called "Hoarders", but they are close sometimes.

So far my plans for making one side of our garage into storage has been placed on hold for a short time, because we have discovered a small leak in the garage roof that will need to be prepared before we continue on with the plans. I really don't want to put anything in there for storage only to have it get wet and ruined. It will only take about a week to have the roof replaced or even less time than that hopefully.

Once this is done it is going to make things much nicer around here. It is going to be a great place to store holiday decorations, yard sale items, and so much more. Its going to be great when it is completed.
