What to look for in an agent.

It is essential that you look for an agent who is good at what they do. They sell houses and should know the market in which they are selling the home.

You can ask questions about how long they have been in the business. This is a standard question however. I like to get to know them a bit.

I don't need to know their whole life history or anything. What I do need to know is how well they know real estate. I ask questions about things like, What was your best sale? Which property was your favorite?

How much detail they can give me about the property or home itself is what makes me comfortable in their abilities. No one needs or wants someone who has little or no interest in the fundimentals of a home or property.

I figure that if the only information they can give me is the length of time that it took to sell or how near to the asking price it sold at they aren't for me. They are only interested in turning a profit.

Yes, honesty is the major factor to me. As I stated before, I had my fathers home to sell which was a hundred miles from me, and I found the nicest most honest real estate agent I could hope for.

He took care of everything for me and it was such a relief not to have to make the drive down there as often as I may have had to.

I would recommend this man to everyone in that area for his honesty and integrity.
