Default Took the realtor course.

Some years ago I took the realtors course and completed it. I got my lisence and everything. It took me about 2 months to give it all up however.
My broker had some issues. She had someone who trained us and most of the time he wasn't even there for the training sessions.
I was told to do certain things and then when it came time to get them done he was not available. Customers don't like to have you set an appointment and then not show up.
I gave up because I was unable to sell anything and couldn't count on anyone. I wasn't going to be told that I had to do something and then have the people who told me to do it not be there for their end of it. You had to have the other person with you or you couldn't do it so I left and haven't gone back.

Interesting. The first company my wife worked with wasn't a great experience either. The broker was new and probably in a little over her head. She broke away from them and hooked up with RE/Max and absolutely loves it! They are like a large family that is full of support and more importantly... KNOWLEDGE and EXPERIENCE!!

Have you ever thought about pursuing it again badmomma? I know from experience that if you team up with the right broker and company you can be successfull!! I would recommend getting in with a company that has recognizable branding too, like the RE/Max balloon, or Century 21 and their black and yellow colors. My two cents...

It doesn't sound as though you were in a good situation at all! It is a shame though to have gone through all of the training and not be able to put it to use. Maybe you should give it a go again but with a good company of course. You may really like it and have a future with it.

I have to agree with Jared and flip it fast, badmomma. It's a shame to waste the knowledge that you gained from this course, and all the hard work that went into it.

Perhaps you could refresh your memory with some reading and then be ready to tackle the real estate market again. We need good, honest and helpful real estate agents, and there are good brokers out there that could help you on your way to an enjoyable and successful career.

You really were in a bad situation Badmomma, though thankfully you did walk away then. Though getting in with companies who are full of knowledge and experience as Jared said is something you really should consider doing. There is good money in real estate if you have the support behind you to back you up.
Sounds to me like Jared's wife found the perfect place for herself, so maybe you can also do the same. It at least never hurts to look into something.
