Yes you are right the agent will sell you swamp land in the everglades if they think they can make a commision off of it so you really have to do your home work on selecting the right agent

My daughter recently got sucked in to a bad house buy. but was able to get out at the last minute.. she called the realtor on the sign that was posted house for sale.. the sellers realtor told my daughter she could represent the sell and her as the buyer.. after several inspections paid for by my daughter. the house had several problems one of which was the fondation.. the bank would not loan the money .. the realtor told my daughter that she knew a bank that would lend her the money no matter what.. my daughter was out alot of money but with a lesson learned .. have your own realtor working for you..

the most important lesson is have a agent working for you and your interest not the same agent that is working for the seller
