Default Realtor Job

I thought about trying to sell homes. I have done alot of things in my past and I thought I would try to sell homes.

My question is, is it hard to sell homes? How do I get started? Do I have to go to school for it? I know around my house, I think you need a license to sell homes.

I don't know how to go about starting out. I know this is the best site on the internet to ask so I am asking. LOL!!!

What is my first step in starting out?

Contact your local college and see if they have a Real Estate course that you can take. I had studied at Ohio University East Campus and completed the course, but just didnt go take the test for my license.

I am sure that Jared can walk you through everything you will need to do as he is now a Real Estate person and so is his wife, and since they both work at this, and I dont, they are much better qualified to point you in the right direction.

Jared, can you help this lady out please?

Sure thing I'll throw my two cents in.

Being a Realtor is more than just selling houses. It's understanding laws, rules, regulations, knowing neighborhoods, areas... it's math, it's geography, it's being a baby sitter... it calls for patience, understanding and for doing things that may not be comfortable at first or at all.

I thought that being a Realtor was about showing houses and making offers. It's so much more than that.

I have found it to be the most rewarding and fun thing that I have ever done. I also have found it to be one of the most frustrating and challenging things I have ever done.

If you decide you want to get your license then look online to see where there are schools around you that offer the course. The course isn't too difficult, just a lot of memorizing terms and phrases. The hard part starts when you jump out in the real world and understand that about 80% of what you learn in class you will NEVER use.

I would be happy to chat with you any time about the ins and outs of being a Realtor. You can email me direct at JaredChristiansen@gmail.com or call me at 260-704-0842.

Thank you so much for your help Jared. I had taken the course, as I said, I just didnt pursue it beyond that point.

I am so glad you are here at New House Flip to answer these types of questions, again, thanks so much.

Thank you very much for all the information. It gives me alot to think about. And also, I have a new respect for Realtors.

I don't know if I could do all of that. I also am like you when you first started thinking about becoming a Realtor. I thought it was just showing houses also, until you pointed out everything I need to do.

I kind of figured it would be more than that with needing to go to school. The laws, and regulations would probably give me a problem.

You are so nice and generous sharing the information with me. Thank you again.
