Default Important to Interview

When your in need of a Broker or a Realtor then it is important that you interview several before making a final decison.

There are a whole lot of realtors and brokers out there who want your business so knowing what your wanting, looking for and so on will allow you to better choose who is going to best benefit you.

One thing that you should never do is allow your broker or your realtor to become your boss. They work for you so knowing what it is that you want and need is going to help you in your search.

Because there are many brokers and realtors who want your business you shoud interview several of them, then carefully choose which one is going to serve you best.

Once the choice has been made and you find that your broker or realtor isn't working for you, then play the boss and fire him or her, and again search for the one who is going to work for you rather than against you.

Default Re: Important to Interview

I understand what your saying, but as a Realtor I see things a little differently. Technically yes, I work for my clients, but I would rather see it as us working together for a common goal, getting you want you want.

So many times I have met buyers and sellers that want to treat me like they are the boss. Sometimes that is okay if they really know what they want, but most of them don't. You can't be "the boss" of somebody if you don't know what your doing.

I always listen to my buyers and most of the time that means reading between the lines and helping them figure out what they want. I tell my sellers that we are a team and that we need to be on the same page and working towards the same goal TOGETHER.

I have fired many clients before. That may sound funny but recently I fired two buyers that were just completely unrealistic about what they can get for $90,000 and weren't hearing a word I said. They wanted to make offers of $85,000 on houses priced in the $150,000 range. I fired them quickly because it's people like that that really waste my time.

I do think that if you are a seller or buyer and your agent isn't following up, communicating, being pushy, etc etc... HECK YEAH FIRE THEM!

Lol you are both right. Both parties have expectations and needs to fill. You both do need to work together toward a common goal. Otherwise, no one will end up with what they want.

It is important to interview your brokers and realtors. You do have to pay them so you need to make sure that you get one that is willing to go the extra mile for you. Same goes vice versa. The buyers/sellers need to do their part and communicate with whomever they have hired so that it can be figured out what it is they want. It's all about communication.
