Default Help is on the way for the unemployed home owners

If being out of work is not enough to live with it seem many are trying to hold on to the homes they have and that seems to be a struggle as well but help is on the way

Quote:
Being unemployed took its toll quickly on Sharon Greene, a single mother and homeowner with three sons to feed. Greene was already struggling to stay current on her mortgage when the news hit. The security company that employed her for the past 8 years had just laid her off, and the bills were piling up. Then the notice arrived.

"Every month, I'm up for a sheriff sale for my home to get sold," Greene told AOL Real Estate. "Every month, I'm fighting and fighting."

Default Re: Help is on the way for the unemployed home owners

This is supposed to go into effect this spring? Will that be early enough to help out some of these people or will they end up being foreclosed on before help is available?

Here is the qualifications that have to be met to get the EHLP assistance:

Quote:
The Emergency Homeowner Loan Program (EHLP) will be disbursed with a 0.0 percent interest rate and can be used for up to two years. To qualify, a borrower must prove loss of income or suffer from a medical condition. The household's annual income cannot exceed 120 percent of the area's median income, and must have been reduced by 15 percent over the last two years.
Its said that the money has been sitting there for 6 months already and why? There are people out there that need help now, and help should be available now.
