Default What Needs Inspected

If your flipping a house or just making some serious changes what things need to be inspected before the house can be sold, rented or lived in?

I don't flip houses though I know a couple of people who are interested in starting so I though I would ask you all about the inspections because I know that when you have some things done to a house it has to be inspected and pass that inspection.

This is just part of the reason that I don't flip houses because I don't know much of anything that would have to be done and proper ways of getting it done and what not.

I figure if I help them out a bit I might learn something new and then maybe one of these days I may even attempt to flip a house or buy a fixer upper to live in.

I may be mistaken but I believe depending on what your local law is, any major changes, such as structural, require a permit to begin with and then will need to be inspected. I think any kind of wiring needs to be inspected after it's installed.

Thats a really good question. I'm not really sure what all needs to be inspected and I can't find anything with real clear information.

I don't know if that includes plumbing although I don't believe it does other than I know septic tanks need to be inspected.

It's kind of confusing really.

I will try and find you some information on this. I am sure some of the folks in this forum could give you a better idea.
