Default Vinyl Tiling the Walls

I am seriously considering vinyl tiling my bathroom walls. I am sick and tired of trying to scrub off toothpaste and soap that got splashed from MY KIDS off the walls!!! I think the easiest thing and most cost effective for me would be to use vinyl floor tiling. I have actually seen it done before and it looks great. I know at Family Dollar you can buy 30 tiles in a box for just $11.00. My bathroom is so small that I imagine two boxes would do it.

Then, when my kids are older I can move on to the more expensive permanent stuff lol. I'd hate to put out a lot of money on anything right now because nothing lasts here. Between my three kids and the five or six more that I seem to have hanging around all the time there just isn't any hope for buying the really nice expensive stuff lol!

I put vinyl tile on my kitchen as a backsplash above the counter top. I used green marble tiles to accomplish the look that I wanted. This only cost me about $12 by doing the backsplash this way as opposed to the significant cost of regulare tiles and having them put up.

One thing though, they wont just stick on the walls simply by the glue that is on the tiles, and you do have to sand the walls slightly and use an adhesive like liquid nails or another adhesive of this sort to get them to permanently stick.

Do take into consideration the fact that there will be a lot of moisture in your bathroom so getting them to stick could be a tad bit more of a problem.

I used tiles of this sort in the bathroom above the shower and to be sure that they stayed because of the moisture, I used a staple gun and stapled the center and 4 corners of the tiles. After you staple them, you can use a water proof paint in a contrasting color to make a small design over each staple and it will look like that is the way the tiles were designed.

You know it not only works it is very cost effective, and it relly does look great. All resteraunts now a days use that kind of stuff on thier walls because of the fact that it is so easily cleaned.A little bleach and water will take almost anything off of it.It is one of the most durable cheap things that you can put up on your walls in your bathroom.

I did it,I put it on my bathroom walls when our kids were little and once they were about grown we put sheet rock up and painted an under water scene on the walls and now we can rally enjoy ourselves while we are doing whatever in the bathroom.

I used to hang wall paper and I always used vinyl in the kitchen and in the bath. It cleans easy and you can get it to stay if you use the right glue.

Thanks for the tips guys! I am really going to do this. I think it is the best solution for me with the kids being young. It will really make my bathroom look a lot nicer and it will be so much easier to clean. And very cost effective! I believe you can buy the adhesive for about $3.00 so thats pretty good too.
