Default Repairing scratches in paneling

Paneling is made from a thin photo lamination sheet which is designed to look like real wood. Though now days most homes do not have paneling, but rather drywall and are painted. Though for those homes which still have paneling, scratches can occur easily and look unsightly.

To repair scratches in your paneling (faux wood) its as simple as a cosmetic treatment of the damaged area.

Depending on the depth of the scratch, where a light scratch will most likely only reveal more wood, though for scratches which are much deeper, these usally tend to show the paper backing or even the plywood core of the paneling.

Though if the damage done to the paneling is quite severe, that section of the paneling may need to be replaced.

With the use of an almond stick, furniture polish or even a putty stick these scratches can be repaired by following the instructions. Though if you are uncomfortable attempting this on your own, seek a professional furniture expert to tackle the problem for you.

Default Re: Repairing scratches in paneling

Repairing scratches in paneling is a simple fix, in most cases. I've managed to repair these scratches many times myself. Most of the time, the repaired scratch is not detectable at all.
