Default Renovations with Pets in Mind

There was a time when pets were pets. That included a couple of bowls for food and water and a place for them to sleep. Things have really changed with pets becoming family members rather than just animals. With that, people are beginning to do their home renovations and improvements with their pets in mind.

Many interior designers have begun to design specific things with pets in mind. These things include cubbies in kitchen islands for pet dishes, roll out drawers specifically for treats and special places for leashes and so on.

“People are trying to do a better job at planning everything out and accommodating the whole family, pets included,” Britton said.
Now this isn't the sort of thing for every home but it is something to keep in mind. Having special ammenities for pet lovers is definitely an added bonus and it can make your house stand out from others.

I love to watch the Animal Planet channel. I am a hgue animal lover and about a week ago I was watching a show of course about animals and they were discussing pet care and the things that people do for their pets.

One family that they had on the show was a married couple who had 5 cats. Both the husband and wife worked full time jobs and were not home as much as most are.

Because of this they claimed that the house really belonged to the cats because they were in the home more than anyone and this brought on the renovations that they had done to the home.

They renovated the house so that it was pretty much nothing but a gaint play house for their cats.

they did like $30,000 worth of work to the house and what they did devalued their home by around $40,000. But the cats love it and they say that is what matters the most.

I love animals as I already mentioned, however I don't think that I would go overboard as some have.

I can see having some extra places made for pet food and snacks etc but $30,000 to make a playground for cats is a bit much in my book.

And it would take another animal lover, cat lover, to be exact, to want to buy the house you are talking about. Anyone else would have a lot of work and a lot of money involved to just put that house back to a regular home.

Yep loving your pets is great but some people do tend to overdo it a bit.

I completely agree. The house I spoke about is one that only another cat lover could appreciate. Personally I believe it is nice making a home more fun for our pets, but this one goes way beyond anything I would have ever thought of.
