Recyling Wood

The house I moved into has very interesting walls in one room, that are made with old wooden poles, cut down for a paneling look, but a lot more interesting.

Also stained with wood stain, gives a very rustic look.

As far as I know he just slit the poles in the middle, making flat backs to them, nailed them up on the walls. Putting up one at a time with a very small gap between each one.
